COFA KID.
Cofa Kid is an experimental handmade book in which I wanted to convey the culture of UNSW Art and Design through images and text. I chose to base my graphic book on where I studied because it was a large part of my environment and was my definition of a community. The images I took around the campus included building designs, posters, student art and different textures. I wanted to experiment with overlapping images with varying opacities in conjunction with text showing definitions of community slang. Furthermore, instead of numbering the pages, I had chosen to use small boxes on the edges to illustrate the page number. The colour palette of my book is an array of muted greys, pinks and orange which were colours I found prominent in my community but also complimented the images nicely. Lastly, the graphics are displayed on small PVC squares measuring 100mm x 100mm binded together with black ribbon.
