MOON JUICE POSTCARDS
Moon Juice is a postcard design that explores society’s relationship with consumerism. The front of the postcard features an illustration of a fictional energy drink named Moon Juice which claims to make the consumer’s dreams come true. The postcard draws on the design of Japanese advertisements to reference to a culture that is influenced by marketing.The design alludes to Andy Warhol’s, Campbell’s Soup Cans which are also produced through the printmaking technique. Moreover, it comments on the repetition and uniformity of advertising. Furthermore, the name of the drink implies to consumers that Moon Juice is produced from the Moon and therefore lends a special quality to the drink.
